Army National Guard Upgrade

VARIOUS LOCATIONS THROUGHOUT THE US
CLIENT

U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE)

Project Overview

The Army National Guard required the performance of an Commercial Intrusion Detection System (CIDS) upgrade. ISS was contracted to provide all services and equipment for a CIDS upgrade, including testing and commissioning. The project locations were at various national Guard facilities throughout the United States, encompassing all 50 states, and all territories.

Installed Components

The Challenge

Large scale installation project done on a state-by-state basis. With the entire state being done by a crew of two, we needed intense logistical planning/coordination and special training. With the number of states and individual sites within each state, coordination, logistics, and shipping were a large hurdle to overcome. Finding, training, and certifying the appropriate number of technicians to accomplish this large task was a challenge in itself. The technicians needed to be trained and certified to the standards of the Program Office, which included sending them to CIDS schools.

Our Solution

  • Unique hub and spoke logistic design for shipping equipment to every ARNG location within one state for the least disruption possible
  • Coordination with manufactures and vendors across the US to forecast equipment lead times to mitigate long waits rather than reacting to changes in supply chain
  • ISS’s unique training program and labs dedicated to replicate a hands on step by step installation course for these systems
